Whenever I watch an early morning, or evening news, there will always be stories where there is casualty because of third party. Teleseryes also always have that love triangle story because this is what networks think as the best approach to seduce their audience into watching. The story always ends in violence; oftentimes, the very concept of love makes the teleserye morbid at some point, which is an irony.
Such picture of courtship goes beyond the parameter of the human species. As analyzed by Natalie Angier, in her Dolphin Courtship: Brutal, Cunning, and Complex, the courtship of dolphins can even be more intricate, and can only be understood by the people who are willing to spend their precious time studying such complexity.
The process analysis that was devised by Angier in this article was a very informative one. Sure, I have not yet seen any dolphin in my life, but reading a part of their tale somehow gave me a background on how they operate. I can even bet my month’s allowance that there are those who have already seen dolphins upfront but do not even know how brutal, cunning, and complex their courtship can be. I think my experience is better than these people’s.
