Can time and experience change one’s perspective about a single thing?
For Mark Twain, in his Two Views of the Mississippi, yes it can change. And it can be a dramatic one. As described in his expository piece, the beauty of something might turn out to be just some technicalities that would help him master and survive his profession.
It is not every day that one realizes the shift in how he looks at certain things in his life. Such things may be of a shallow nature, but still, it is somehow important that we keep track on how we look we look at them. It is only when we notice the little things can we give a second glance to bigger and more significant ones.
